Our first tramatic event

Last Saturday we experienced our first tramatic experience. I left Harper on the couch for a split second unattended and she rolled off on to the floor. That is a long fall for a little one. Of course I think it damaged me more that it even impacted her. She of course screamed which put my heart in my throat and as soon as I picked her up she seemed fine and then it was just my tears that needed comforting. After a quick call to the nurse (who was very sweet and reasuring that it happens to all new moms) I calmed down. We were advised to watch her for 12 hours to make sure there was no longterm damage. She is fine and recovered nicely. I on the other hand am still recovering. Poor baby girl!

Oliver

Yesterday we took the dogs to get their annual shots. It made Oliver so tired which is a miracle for the energizer bunny. He never slows down. Yesterday we couldn't get him off the couch. If he could drool I am sure he would have been. It was pretty funny.

A model in the making...???

Harper took her first official professional photographs 2 weeks ago and we just got them back. They turned out really cute. Here are some pictures: This is Harper at 5 weeks old.

Road trip

Last weekend Harper, Hugh and I took our first official road trip together to see grandma and grandpa in Port Ludlow. The Hood Canal bridge is being worked on so we had to do the long trek around which was 3 hours each way (longer if you count traffic on the way back). Harper did pretty well on the way there with only a little breakdown at the end of the trip (since daddy got lost and it took 45 minutes longer). On the way back (all 4.5 hours) Harper slept the entire way, and so did I! It was great. The weather was beautiful and the drive along Hwy 101 was incredible. Such a pretty day.

Welcome to our BLOG!

So, in light of our new addition to our family, I decided to start a blog so that family and friends can follow along with the life of Harper... and sometimes her parents and puppies! So, here it is, the first official post to our family blog... who would have thought that I would be blogging.

So, to start it off, a few pictures of little Harper and her first few days of life.
